A vacuum is probably the best appliance in the house old or new. The vintage vacuum in the Fencibles Cottage caught my eyes as I explored in the kitchen. It looked very different from the modern one to the olden day one but it surely looked cool.
Using an old fashioned vacuum did not rely or powered by electricity but on air. Instead of turning on the plug the handle was actually a pump where you pump air and in a big metal tin in the middle of the vacuum. The tin was where the rubbish and dust was stored.
It looked very light even though the whole vacuum was made out of metal. Our modern day vacuum is made out of plastic but is very heavy. Our vacuum today has a plug that you have to drag around but a old vacuum is like a end of the modern day vacuum that you swish around with.
So if you had a choice what would you choose a modern day vacuum or a olden day vacuum?
